Been awhile since I last posted, really trying to get back to posting on a regular basis. So, since returning from MI I've been busy. Stitching of course! My 13 year old DD decided she wanted to live with her Dad. We had tried it before without the best results. Trying again-so far so good. Well, when she moved out we had a little empty room upstairs. Hmmmm.....what to do with it I wondered? We don't need more storage-we're trying to get stuff out of the house. My brilliant idea was to make it my stitching room. Brilliant yes, but would DBF let me do it? Ah....that is the question! Well, it went a lot smoother than I anticipated, and he was very OK with me doing that. So-I've got most of my stuff moved up there (TV, chair, stitchy stash), got the paint bought (cinnamon toast w/ brandy accent wall), now just need to paint! Once painted and organized I will post some pics of my room....I love saying that, "my room". My DBF may have second thoughts though. I spend alot of time up there. He hasn't complained yet-I'll keep you posted! Here's hoping you have a marvelous Thanksgiving!!

it's been awhile....
So-hello to all! Been busy so haven't had time to get organized enough to post anything. I've had a few finishes, no WIPs to post today though. Did start back up on my Spring Cat. I hope to have that one done by spring next year. We shall see!
Did alot of bike riding in August. Had the Sturgis Rally of course-and right after that we went to Michigan. 3093 miles on the bikes!!! Was a great trip-wonderful weather, got to meet the DBFs family and see a state that I have never been to. Michigan is beautiful-and not at all what I expected. I also got to meet a stitchy friend when I was in Bay City! Doesn't get much better than that! Here are a few pics of stuff I stitched this summer-enjoy!!

a new finish and a WIP
So here is my current WIP. A lovely little freebie from Sweetbriar Needle Designs June 2011 newsletter. Stitching it over one on 28ct almond Jazlynn. Using some beautiful over-dyed floss that my partner in a color exchange recently sent me. Pic doesn't really do it justice. Not sure yet how I'm gonna finish this one.....
Probably won't get much stitching done now the rest of August-we have the bike rally then vacation right after that. Kinda looking forward to September when things slow down, cool off and riding the bike becomes less of a priority and stitching becomes more of one!
Here's my latest finish (sort of). I think I'm gonna try a bell pull with this one. Just need to pick up the hardware. This one is for our living room. I always give my stitching away-thought I would do one to keep.
That's it for now....til next time!

latest WIP
So here is the project I've been spending most of my stitching time on lately. This one is for our home. It's a pattern I bought way back in the early 90s. I stitched it once before way back then, in blues. Was alright, but I think this one is better simply cuz I have more experience now. It's hard to tell but it's on a pale blue aida-14ct. I converted to browns as our house is decorated in browns and blues (earth and sky).
Will post more later-been a busy summer, and although I am having a grand time and spending lots of time on my bike, I'm already looking forward to down time this winter. Not to mention some cooler temps! Til next time.....

new finish
Here's a little finish I did for a friend of mine. Just need a frame and it's good to go! Wish I had more time for stitching right now-I love riding the Harley, and I love stitching. Funny though-stitching season is much longer than riding season and yet I never seem to get enough of either! Thanks for looking!

nostalgia...
So....this is the project that started them all. My very first cross stitch. This was given to me by a woman I worked for way back the early 90s. Below is another one of the early projects I stitched for my daughter. I think he is SO cute!
I stitched for awhile-then got too "busy" with life to continue. I am SO glad I got back to it!!! Thanks for looking! Stacey

some more oldies but goodies (sorta)
Another LK that I did for-you guessed it-my DD. Added a few of my own embellishments. I was in a button mood I guess!
Love the rich reds in this little freebie I stitched. I just made a little mat out of it and have it sitting on an end table. It's so pretty!
I had this little piece of Anne cloth and I found this cute little curly heart online and put them together! I use this one as kind of a doily. I have a candle and a cat sitting on it.
This is a little doorhanger I whipped up last weekend to give me a break from my BAP I'm working on. Never attempted anything like that before-was fun and interesting. Gotta get me some sewing skills tho!!
So there you have it folks! That's all the finished I have in my posession anyway. I will continue posting current WIPs and any small finishes I may have. I am almost done with my bookmark pattern. When I am I will post that here for all to enjoy! Thanks for looking!

a cuppla more old finishes...
So-here is a little bookmark I stitched-the pattern is one I just made up myself. I like hearts-thought it was kinda cute. Busy-but cute!
This is a piece I did for my sister and her husband as a wedding gift. I had to frame it myself, turned out ok. I still have to send it to her though-spose I should maybe get that done-she was married last fall!!!!

new project
I would like to extend a great big Hello and Welcome to my new followers! I honestly never thought I would have any-so thank you!!
Hello blog-world! Didn't get much stitching done this last weekend-was too nice and I had to go ride my Harley! I will hopefully get some stitching time in this week. So here is a pic of my latest and greatest project-Spring Cat by Cross My Heart. I have all 4 seasons-this is my first one. Below is how far I've gotten-I started (and re-started) in March. With summer coming I don't know how much I will get done-but I will keep plugging away! I want to do all 4 then get them matted and framed. I will keep you posted, for now-have a great day!!
